Concert in the Park

Jaime and Courtney

Jill hooping. (Notice her bangled belly dancing scarf.) Mia  and Jaime hooped, too.

There used to be a concert in the park every Friday night in the spring before the rainy season. I loved it. But then it got too crowded and then they moved it to a park in downtown Tampa. Well, I found out that some of the concerts are back in our local park so Jaime and I took Mia and Jill and Jill's mom, Courtney. It was a James Taylor tribute. Not really Jaime's music but definitely mine. There was mellow music, hula hooping, glow-in-the-dark jewelry, face painting, and ice cream eating. Everyone had fun and the little girls were exhausted and ready to have their faces washed by the time the concert ended at 9:00.

  1. That looks like a fun girls' night out. It's probably hard to belly dance to JT, but rocking gently is awfully good, and he's the best. Sounds like you have another belly dancer on the way, with a great teacher!

  2. Looks like everyone was having so much fun! They do a Concert in the Park here every September and Amara and I always go -- we have such a blast! Her dancing and me taking pictures!

  3. Here's to "small town" concerts in the park. I wish there were more things like this. We went to the Blueberry Festival in a small town in North Florida recently. I expected a farmer's market brimming with produce and all kinds of blueberry goodies. Unfortunately it was a held downtown with beating sun and no shade. There were bands and booths and one blueberry shortcake stand but everything was very expensive and I never actually saw a blueberry.

  4. Gee, that's weird about the blueberries. My place to pick here in so. Indiana got a late frost, so there won't be many this year.
    Love me some James Taylor.
Sounds like my cup of tea.
