Preview to Thanksgiving Day

One of my favorite places in the world, Riverhills Park in Temple Terrace, Florida



Mia had a Thanksgiving show at her new church preschool. She is dressed as an Indian. There was a feather in her headress, but it flopped over. The drawing on the front of her "vest" depicts what she is grateful for. Grandma!

Jaime's dining room dressed for Thanksgiving. We traded tables. The long table I have had for 25 years went to her house and a small round table moved to mine. She added a smaller table to make it longer and covered it with the Thanksgiving table cloth handed down to her from Aunt Darlene. 

  The chairs don't match, but I think Jaime's dining room is beautiful.

Happy Thanksgiving. I woke up extremely early and put a turkey in the oven. I am cooking here and Jaime is cooking at her house. Roger will stay home and watch football in his own chair with his own dinner, but I will also be going around the corner to help Jaime with her dinner which is scheduled at 2:00. Jill will help us with preparations. We will watch the parade, the football game (Roger is a die hard Lions fan), and have a good meal with friends and family. I wish peace and happiness to all.

June 3, 2011 - Our 5-year anniversary. Hard to believe. The kids were having end of school parties, Jaime and Aaron were working on their roof, and Roger and I celebrated by going to Ivarone's - a landmark Tampa restaurant owned by a landmark Tampa family. Click on the restaurant name to see the menu. Roger and I had steak and their fantastic house salad and cannoli's for desert. Bruce, Mary, Rick and Darlene went with us.

Golf Day

Here are Cory and Roger on their way to play golf. It was a warm, pleasant day. They had a good time and Roger got a birdie on the second hole. Cory had a 250 yard drive on the seventeenth.

Highlights of 2010 Collage

Highlights of 2010. Lots of things were going on in the world this year but these were the big events in my life. Mia started school. Roger's daughter and her family came to visit and we had a good time at the beach. Stephanie and Cory had a beautiful wedding at her father and stepmother's house in Virginia, Jaime and Aaron got engaged and they moved into their own apartment. The grandkids are all doing great and we had the usual birthday and holiday celebrations. Life is good and I am grateful. I pray for a happy, peaceful and prosperous new year for 2011 for everyone. So much going on lately. We went to Cody's again for Alan's birthday. Darlene's birthday was also coming up on the 7th. Jaime and Aaron split some ribs. Cory stayed home and watched the kids. We had a Scottish waiter who was funny but not very efficient. The band never got started while we were there. We did have to steal an umbrella from another table to block off the sun until it finally moved.

Karin's Birthday - Cody's

Another happy occasion at Cody's on the patio. Karin's birthday celebration. Good music, pretty good food, fans blowing a mist around that left everyone and everything cool but slightly damp. Besides Karin and Alan, there was me and Roger, Peggy, Joyce, Cory, Rick and Darlene, Jaime, Aaron and Mia who somehow didn't get her picture taken for once. Mia enjoyed the free peanuts and asked her mother in a very grown up way, "Could you show me where the bathroom is?" Good girl! Fun!

We all met up at Cody's Steakhouse and ate out on the patio. A fan was blowing mist around and a singer was playing Mellencamp and Sheryl Crow. Good friends, good food, beer and margueritas. It was truly a Happy Hour (or two). Happy Birthday, Peggy!
